YES!!! We won by 600 votes and I am certain they all came from this amazing forum!!! This means that my daughter now has her very FIRST college scholarship!! You all should be very proud of yourselves. You have done a great thing.

She is also going to be flown to NY and put up at a fancy hotel for a RED CARPET premier of her team's film!!!

For those of you who watched the film... we all know it was not anything amazing. But for eighteen teenage girls who never met before and most of them never used any film equipment prior to this, it was a really great experience. They spent two days casting the actors, then spent a few days learning all about the equipment. One day to shoot the film and one day to edit. That was IT!

Their airfare and hotel in LA was paid for and most of their meals too (also the airfare for a chaperone). Any money needed to make the film was paid for by the companies involved as well. It really was a once in a lifetime thing and all they had to do to apply was to answer two questions either in essay form or on video. NO entry fee. Then there was a telephone interview (they called her) and that was it. It cost us nothing.

So, now you can say you actually know someone who won a big contest and it was really like they said it was!!!

Oh and Morris, they made fun of him the entire time and have been joking about him ever since.

The Judge by the way, he is a famous actor. His name is Tom Virtue and he has been in lots of things. He is currently the minister on The Secret Life of the American Teenage and was the dad on Even Stevens. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0899487/ He actually just came to the open auditions and the girls were all excited to have him in their film and he was super nice to them.

Thanks again for caring so much and supporting her!
