Thread: The Untold History of the United States - Oliver Stone

I have been watching this series with great interest. I do not always agree with Oliver Stone's opinions, but I think he has done an excellent job with this series, in counteracting the propaganda many Americans have been fed since birth. I especially enjoyed what he has to say about the Cold War, and the reasons behind it, as well as his views about the Soviet Union and how it was vilified in America.

For those of you learning English, this series may be helpful. Stone's narration is slow and clear.

This is Episode One: World War Two. Stone explains that even though Americans tend to take credit for "winning the war" it was really the Soviets who defeated Hitler. Of course, the series is not getting attention on "primetime TV" in America. It airs on Tuedays, during the day, on Showtime. I think this is because many of our staunch conservatives will not agree with his "liberal" viewpoint.

Да, можно сказать, что я не всегда согласна с ним... но этот сериал мне кажется, очень интересный и глубокий... вообще мне нравится.
