    Turnip

What's that story with the grandfather trying to pull either the cabbage or turnip out of the ground? I can't find a Russian version of the text anywhere! Alas, Google hath let me down.

    [EDIT]

Also, to save clogging up all the topics, can you tell me a "bad-ass" name in Russian? People in school keep making fun of me, because "Максим" sounds too much like "Maxine". The ones in my book do not suffice.

I suggest you go by Остап and say things like
    Господа присяжные заседатели, заседание продалжается!

And noone will understand what the hell you're talking about.

Alternatively, when people make fun of your name you could throw some slang/curse words at them, causing confusion. However, this doesn't work when you're surrounded by native speakers.

Hmm I beg to disagree, it's fairly easy to find an information about the story in Google, you just have to enter more relevant keywords:

DenisM: Even in the keywords you have provided, I still cannot find a Russian text of "Репка". Now that I have a link, and now I can search "Репка", I can find it now, but with the information of the story I had before, I could only find an English version.
