    Slavic languages

    Hey,

I have a question regarding Ukrainian and Russian. Did both of these languages always co-exist, or have they been separated at some point in history? I recall that once Kiev was the campital of the Russian state. So probably russian once sounded much closer to ukrainian?

    I don't agree)
Maybe, some people said that and wanted others to think so.
