Man, dont you see a diffrence between a tourist and a businessman? The tourist who sells cars is not a tourist, I guess.

But it's a GIFT for his host family. Really!

Yeah, they just might miss the car that you registered when you leave the country. Berezovsky did it and made alot of money; I doubt you can, though...

It's not selling a gift. The host family will be so pleased with the gift of the car, they will give him a cash gift in return :P

come on, guys. I belive you have missed the point. It's quite a few thousand kilometres from me to Moscow and I really wouldn't drive the car back if I don't have to...

Is anyone capable of telling me whether foreigner can sell a car in your country or not?

And about business. It is possible (and probably easyer) to make money in Europe too. Believe me.

It seems to me that, if you want to be legal, that the obvious contact is the Russian embassy. Have you tried contacting them (particularly, the trade representatives)?

Actually, I didn't realize this was the American embassy, but it still doesn't seem like it should matter; you still might try this one -- maybe you'll find people who will be more likely to help you. A better idea, though, might be to actually call the people at your local embassy -- better yet see them in person. That way, it's a little bit harder to ignore you, and you might get a straight answer. Then again, they are Russian...
