    School / Career

Just wanted to get an idea of what everyone is interested in, and what they do.
So, tell everyone what school you go to and what you are studying, or what you do if you aren't in school!

    I will start:
I go to University of Toronto for Physical and Mathematical Sciences.

I'm taking a boring HND Computing course at a University in the south of England. I don't have a job, but it's a long summer ahead...
Please correct any Russian language mistakes I make.

    Hey, я на побереже юга.

I'm doing A-levels at the moment, coming up to leaving in a few months, nice long summer for some good Russian-studying and then off to Southampton University to study electronics, I hope.

Wow, that must be the most coherent thing I've ever written in Russian on the spur of the moment!

    Thanks, Dimitri!

I'm a first-year student at an eminent Economic University in Moscow. We're studying a lot of subjects that have hardly anything to do with Banking (hope it is my future career) in the first year.

BTW, I visited U of T last summer. I was at its huge library, to be precise. As far as I remember, it's shaped like some bird. Is it a crane? Oh! I've also been to U of T's sports complex. I'm envious of you!

I would like to be a novelist, though with the publishing industry the way it is, it'll be difficult. So I would like to be a teacher also. It'll pay bills and provide inspiration.

I would like to be a teacher as well, but not for money. Because I love to teach!

I do too. I tutor often. Mostly for History and English. And when you teach elementary school, kids are an endless source of ideas.

Is that a double-major in itself? Or do you have another program as well? (Hopefully all universities use the same terms, or else you will not know what I'm talking about).

Don't be envious of me yet! You went to the downtown campus; I will be at the Scarborough campus for 2 years (then downtown for the last 2 years).
The Scarborough campus isn't much to be proud of! It's small but nice because I never have to walk outside when it's -123098 C weather. Actually, the winter weather has been pretty nice this year. It hasn't gone below -10 - -15 C, to my understanding.

Many of the programs in the US offer degrees in "Slavic/Russian Language and Literature," so that's really not suprising in the least to me (dunno about Canuck or Turkish schools though...).
Заранее благодарю всех за исправление ошибок в моём русском.

Canuck is a horrible term! It's CANADIAN.

I haven't heard of any such programs as degrees in themselves (I know that they exist as single majors, but you are supposed to have 2 majors).
Perhaps full degree programs exist, but I am not aware of them.
