Two quick points:
-At the risk of sounding like a total jerk, it was kind of odd that they named the page "survivors-russian-airliner-crash.html" when in fact there were NO survivors.
-I thought it wasn't that unusual for lightning to strike aircraft (or am I totally wrong about that?). It's usually not a problem as long as the plane is in good operating condition?
Да, всё время говорят "Прибывают спасатели, едут спасатели."Quote:

As with all news, check out as many sources as possible.

BBC quotes Russia as "severe turbulance", and "possible lightning strike". Ukraine as "possible fire".
My guess is a "micro-burst", nasty little spots of weather.
TU-145 isn't a bad plane, just gets bad luck with weather and other stuff.
TU-154 isn't a bad plane... It has the highest crash record of all planes!
Edit: It's Tu-154, folks :)
Six crashes for the last five years. (Corrected)Quote:

You can hardly blame the plane when someone shoots it down/ leaves snow ploughs parked on the runway/ doesn't put enough fuel in it.
These planes may be old. The metal is subject to a so called fatigue. If a plane is heavily used for a long time, there are some irreversible changes in the metal's structure which is hard to detect and avoid.Quote:

NTV showed an amateur video of the plane crash. Follow the link:
