My name is Koko, and I am from the USA..... I just started with the russian language ^^;

My interests are anime, games, and talking to people ^^

Also, I can read, write, and transliterate russian.. and pronounce it.. but I cannot speak it or anything

Здравствулте! I hope that is how it is spelled! I'm also new and learning Russian at my University here in the USA. I'm currently in my second term of Russian so things are beginning to get a llittle more difficult.

zdravstvutye Koko. It sounds like you're at the same level as myself. I hope you're luckier tham I am in getting cyrillic on your computer. I've once gotten the cyrillic going, but then something wierd happen and all I could type was numerals and capital roman letters. And the one time I did get it going, I only got in five minutes to find out where all the letters were located.
I don't type transliterated Russian on this forum, because it being Russian specific, the patrons understandably prefer against it. I think there could perhaps be a little single section for transliterated Russian. But, maybe I'd be the only one who'd use it. Not that I'm confident in being understood. I'm yet to establish grammar. I can say simple sentences which only have the utmost basic grammar structure. But once you throw two parts to a single sentence...I'm out! Hopefully though, I'll find out why my cyrillic doesn't register, and I can get aquainted with the location of the letters on the keyboard.
There's a very helpful and lively teacher on the Russian section of the phrasebase.com forum. If the class times a right for you, you should try to listen and view in on her (Anya) chatroom classes. They're beginner-friendly. I'm yet to catch one, myself.

Brett, for learning the location of the cyrillic letters on an english keyboard, you might like this website:: RussianKeyboards.com

They seem to sell keyboards with English and Cyrillic letters on the keys; and if you would prefer a cheaper option, they also sell keyboard stickers that you can place on your english-keyboard.

spasiba, Plastic. I'll look at that. I don't feel the need to actually have a cyrillic stickers. I'll just get a picture of its layout and pop it infront of me whilst learning to type. I was simply going to draw it up myself. But if I find layout picture, that'll do. spasiba.

Спасибо! I thought that it looked a little wierd once I posted it. I think the main thing I have trouble with is spelling and vocabulary. My Russian teacher focuses on grammar structure more than vocabulary.

Я тоже так научилась печатать вслепую глядя на картинку клавиатуры. Ещё лучше разместить лишнюю "клаву" с русскими наклейками между компютером и настоящей "клавой" и посматривать на неё иногда. Пальцы привыкают быстро.

I play it, but I dont think it is the BEST RPG... I like all RPGs..

If grammar is your thing, then take note:
здравствовать - verb meaning "to be in good health"
здравствуй/те - imperative form of this verb

Brett: What sort of OS do you use? At any rate, if you just want something to look at, I would recommend typing up your own thing in Word. Just hit each of the keys in order and put the QWERTY keyboard equivalent underneath. Sooner or later you'll be touch-typing with the best of them.

Did it happen in your browser? Then it's a known issue: some wrong-doing program affected your browser's work. Here is the updatable list of such programs and some solutions:
