Russian to Irish / Irish to Russian
Hello,
I'm new to this site but I am looking for some help, I am looking for a website that can teach me firstly, the Russian Alphabet and how it is written and secondly somewhere where I could learn the very bascis of Russian (preferably a place that would have phonetics written beside the words...for ignorant people like me!!) In return I can guide people in the right direction for learning the Irish language , for exmaple http://www.gaeilge.ie is a good start for people learning Irish. If I could find a site for learners of Russian I would be very greatful,
Go raibh maith agaibh, (thank you),

Ag foghlaim teanga na Rúise
Milanya thanks very much for that, I haven't used the link yet but as soon as I'm finished here I will use it.
Pravit, a Chara,
Thanks for getting back to me aswell. The type of basics that I am looking for is like a beginners course, but I am looking for something I can do in my own time...preferably online. I would like to be able to go to Russia and be able to greet people in their own tongue, I would like to be able to ask for directions and be able to understand their responses.
I would eventually like to be fluent in the language, but I must crawl before I walk and walk before I run.
Another thing that interests me (and this may seem strange, but I find it helps people to learn) is childrens books. I would like to be able to read books in Russian, basic books. For example: The three bears (Now I feel like a complete child, but if anyone was to ask me what is the best method to learn Irish I would tell them that they must be able to drop themselves to the level of a child when learning a language, afterall this is how everyone learned their mother tongue to begin with.
Le gache dea-mh

Isn't MasterRussian the site you're looking for?
If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here.
BTW, there is nice russian-language resource for everybody interested in Irish language and culture (http://www.irish.ru).
