I did not use megaupload often, but the death of filesonic was a black day for me *sniff*. I actually think that piracy is a good thing both for users and - in the long run - for copyright holders.

I think that any filelocker that attracts attention to itself is in danger of being closed nowadays.
For example, Ukraine’s largest file-sharing site ex.ua was closed recently, and police seized their 200 servers. It caused a pretty big scandal, with news reports, street meetings and hacker attacks on Ukrainian government sites. The Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs gives mixed signals about it (there was info that the investigating officer who made a decision was promptly fired after that, lol, and the ministry officials said that they are not going to prosecute the hackers who took part in these attacks). The site itself was on and off since then. It seems the officials did not expect such an outcry and can't decide what to do with it.
