Thread: Russia has chosen it's song for Eurovision 2005

Russia has chosen Belarussian singer Natal'ya Podol'skaya to represent it in the 50th Eurovision Song Contest which will be held in Kyiv, Ukraine in May. The song is called Nobody Hurt No One, (which is a bad translation from the Russian, retaining the double negation).

She also came second in last year's Belarussian selection.

However yesterday it was rumoured that Russian Chanel One fixed the vote so she'd win. I think Anastasiya Stotskaya should have one, her song was much better.

A record 40 countries will participate in this year's contest, with the addition of Bulgaria, Moldova, Lebannon and the return of Hungary.

Meanwhile the Ukrainian song may be disqualified as it is a remake of an old revolutionary song, and one major rule of Eurovision is that the song must be original.

News from Ukraine! Ukraine have selected an aweful song. The Ukrainian slection consisted of a huge 15 semi final round. But then in the final round the stupid TV company introduced 4 wild card entries, one of which Greenjolly, won. The song has the line: "Yushchenko TAK!, Yushchenko TAK!, tse nash prezident Yushchenko."

Apparently, when viewrs cast SMS votes, only votes went through for 3 acts. When viewers tried to SMS votes for other acts the messages wouldn't send.

It's all Putins work hehe. He's sitting there "Excellent....excellent..."

Btw, this is OT but what does the slogan "Yushchenko TAK!" mean? Why "tak?" Just because? I'm guessing it might mean something different in Ukranian...
