Rosetta Stone
I originally posted this under "Getting Started", but I only got one reply. Please excuse me for repeating the post here, but I would like more input.
Does anybody have any experience using Rosetta Stone? I'm waiting for my CD's to arrive (I bought levels 1 and 2), and I've heard very little about it, except from the company themselves. Anyway, could somebody give me thier opinions on it?
(Also, please forgive me if this has been discussed before. If so, please direct me to the proper thread).
Thanks to all,
Platinum

I loved it.
When I first started learning Russian I kept getting stuck and this was what finally got me through the beginner phase because I learned a ton of vocabulary really fast.
It doesn't teach grammar, but since you can get that from any other language program it really doesn't matter.
It is overpriced though.

Yes it is very expensive. I just paid $300 for both levels. But if i helps me learn Russian, then I'm okay with it. Another expensive program is Pimsleur. I completed all 3 levels of that. I loved Pimsleur, but the vocab is very limited. I wish they had about 50 levels...i'd use them all. :) The good thing about Pimsleur is that you can get them at many libraries, so it's essentially free!
