Prof. Photog/Artist from Wash D.C. to meet cool people...

hi. I am looking to meet cool people to hang out with, wander around, look at art, take fotos, drink some beer, whatever while i'm visiting from 11 jun to 24 jun...I have business to do but want to hang out and get a good feel of the russian culture- I want to stay out out of the heavily touristed areas. I am a westerner and am not going to Russia to see the West! :) I am in Spb. and Moscow for two weeks in apt- Not looking for a tour guide or some sort of special treatment (or a russian bride either!)- just cool people to hang with, chat with, etc..my russian is poor but I learn fast...I can trade my bad russian for good vodka (if you know where to get it) :)

Ah, I wish I lived in Moscow or SPB ;) I'm constantly taking visitors from abroad and have some experience in what they want from Russia ;)

How about steaming out in a russian "banya" with genuine russian vodka and pelmeni? That drives all the foreigners crazy! Ha ha.

Thanks for the possible offer :) Yes I intend to eventually live in russia 6 months area and do my art, spend the other 6 months in the states doing the same (but actually making some money)...

My girlfriend is Russian, born/raised in Spb. I've eaten all the Russian food there is, probably. Its great stuff. Never been to a summer house or banya though- i'll find a driver to cruise me out to the country for foto ops ..
