    Не понимаю

    Is not SE China a semi-tropical climate. What's with all the snow? Forgive me, but I do not have a clue why there would be Soviet monuments there. I thought that RU and China were historical enemies.
    In my limited knowledge of Russian/USSR history, Russians can be viewed admirably for their sacrifices in the repulsion of Napoleonic and German Nazi armies, and possibly for repulsion of English/American forces during the Bolshevik/Menshivik revolution; and certainly overthrow of the Czarist monarchy and the communist oligarchy. But what is the enigma/riddle/puzzle [described by Churchill] that makes Russia/Russians so curious?

    PS: Are the Chinese planning to invade and occupy SIberia?
