In a good way, or bad?

I personally feel that opening the PC market to having options was a very good thing. It's bad for support at times though.

Well, it depends on a point of view. As a technology it's a very good thing. But businesses almost killed it by forcing people upgrade computer parts more and more, so finally it doesn't make sense now.
