Orthodox Services
I'm going to be living with a Ukrainian family for several weeks, and will be attending Orthodox services. I was wondering if there is a schedule of scripture readings in the Orthodox tradition, since I know this is true for many sects of Christianity. If this is the case, I'd like to look them up in advance so I can follow along.
Additionally, I was wondering if you know of any good resources for Orthodox prayers/hymns that are commonly featured in services. This is my first Orthodox service, so I want to make sure I will be acquainted with the tradition in advance of my experience.

I guess you are a foreigner, so noone will be looking down on you, because it's natural that you are not acquainted with the tradition. I suppose it's only one time during the week? You could ask the host family about it before the first visit probably. Noone will be strict towards you I am sure.

Go to a Catholic Church and observe the customs. They are almost identical :)

Where will you be staying in Ukraine?
I had lived most of my life in Ukraine before I moved to Florida, USA, fourteen years ago. There are three different branches of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine. I do not know if all three use the same texts and prayers for their services. Females are encouraged to cover their heads with a shawl or a scarf (a head covering).
Can you read in Russian? If so, I will try to find some resources for you.
