Online delicatessens for delivery in Russia?

I have a bedridden friend in Russia to whom I'd like to send some chocolates and maybe dried fruit, or fresh fruit (oranges?) if possible. Is there an online source in Russia where I can buy and forward gourmet food gifts and send within Russia? Similar to Harry and David's in the US, or Kaefer or Dallmayr in Munich?

Ideally English or German-language ordering, but it can be in Russian.

I can pay via credit card -- or is that too risky? I can also wire payment in Euros from Germany.

    Спасибо

I've never heard of such a service in Russia. The only idea I have is that you can buy some chocolate and send it via an express mail service (dhl, ups or ...).

there are such services in Russia, tell us the city so that we could find some service closer to that city, they mostly specialize in ordinary food, but i think it's possible to find gourmet food sections on some of services,

it's logical that such services should be more developed in bigger cities

anyway, tell us the city's name for better search

for payment you will have to read the conditions, or somebody could help you if it's in Russian only, i think credit card is ok in most cases.

in this case, it can be cheaper than express mail.

Thanks for comments. She's in Vladimir, a little over 100 miles east of Moscow.

Of course I thought of sending from here or Germany, but postage would cost way more than the items and I couldn't send anything very heavy.

The only one i found in Vladimir is this: Интернет-мегамаркет 'Еда в дом' Доставка еды на дом. Интернет магазин продуктов. Заказ продуктов лекарств. Онлайн магазин продуктов через Интернет. Доставка еды алкоголь утконос. Во Владимире.

but they don't seem to accept cards, this is local online market for Vladimir, and they write about some registration prior to ordering, phone calls for registration, and it looks as if it's cash-only.

Thanks, that's a good tip. I have a neighbor who's Russian and can have a look at this for me. (I read Russian very slowly.)

There must be something like this in Moscow for foreigners and wealthy Russians.

If you have Skype find somebody who lives in Vladimir (Владимир) and ask him/her to buy all you want and present it. I'm sure you'll find such people. What is financial risk? 10-15$ ? Otherwise you can use russian social nets such as В Контакте | Добро пожаловать or Одноклассники.ru

Thanks, but I don't have Skype, though I should probably look into it. I'd still be leery of trusting a total stranger with my cash.

For everybody's information, I wrote to the Swiss chocolatier Nestle's branch in Moscow and asked if they ship their chocolates to individuals. They kindly responded that they do not, and did not know internet shops that deliver to Vladimir. They pointed out that utkonos.ru and perhaps other online services deliver to major cities (Moscow, St. Pete), but evidently not to smaller ones.
