No, it hasn't.
Frankly, I never heard that flags have names. As far as I'm aware there are only certain national symbols such as an eblem that have names.
The British flag is known as "the Union Jack".Quote:

P.S. Now I know. Thanks heaps, DDT :D
And American flag is called "Stars and Stripes".
I've heard of "Star-shpongled Banner" which is actually "Star-spongled".
People sometimes call it триколор i.e. tri-color or more specifically российский триколор.
If I remember correctly the French call their flag 'триколор' as well.
i heard романовский
not sure
edit, no-no, романовский is a different thing
российский триколор eliminates the confusion :D It's not an official name anyway.Quote:

That's right! I agree completely.
OK, I found the official name штандарт but it doesn't mean just a flag. It's the President's flag that has a golden version of the State Seal of the Russian Federation and is gold-fringed.

We sometimes call it "the three-colored flag". :wink:Quote:

This same St Andrews cross makes up part of the Union Jack, also. The Union Jack is made of three separate crosses.
You read my mind! I was just going to ask about that one. Thanks, Gerty!
I had to clean up some messages. Don't divert from the subject, guys!
The Malaysian flag is called "Jalur Gemilang", but it's a recent (less than 10 years) name. It did not have a name earlier as well.
I think it is getting fashionable for flags to have a name. Official or otherwise.
