Wow. Thats a pretty diffrent picture from the grozniy that i pictured. Have they really rebuilt chechnya that quickly?

Also i noticed some pictures showed people holding both Russian and Chechen flags... Does this mean we can be friends after all?

I also saw the banner that said "The first thing Grozniy needs to do is stand up for itself!" - V. Putin...
This is kinda good isnt it? Its like OK PUTIN! WE CAN DO IT!

Its good to see the people of chechnya getting back to a somewhat normal life.

I certainly hope they do -- I was also shocked with those pictures. It's creepy as hell though to see all those Ramzan shirts, though. And keep in mind, that with any photos from that site, they're going to naturally focus on the best parts of a city (as they should -- who wants to see slums?), so you don't necessarily get the full picture. Still, it's good to any reconstruction rather than artillery craters.

i didn't know that you have to be russian to not want young soldiers to stop being killed?what about kids or sick people being taken hostage. do you have to be russian to not agree with that? or maybe being being blown up by suicide bombers, are dispising acts of violence like these constrained to nationalities?

thanks, i try. though, there is a diffrence, i dont see a big one between a kazak, or ukrianian, azeri or moldovian, lithuianian or bulgarian person who speak russian and can call themselves russian and get away with it than an american with russian pride . Russia, like all developed countries is too diverse and has too many immigrants to try and label people.

Not that it is any of my business, but I think Dagoth simply wondered why you said "Does this mean we can be friends after all?", because the 'we' means between the Russians and Chechens...

Does it really even matter?

Was the song "Why can't we be friends" about the lead singer and his worst enemy? Doubt it.

Besides, if you want to get technical. Sure, i meant we. Because the same terrorists that fight in chechnya fight in iraq afghanistan and palistine and are funded by like groups. And since Putin and Bush are "Buddies" on the war against terror... It seems like its US against THEM anyways.
