    Joke /

It is established, that in Russian not only words can be in different places of the offer, but also letters in a word can be changed in the any order, the main thing what first and last letters were on the place. To read difficultly, but it is clear.

Actually I have seen a thing like this in English.

Yea I read somewhere that in your native language, you can mix up the words as long as the first and last letters are in place and your mind can rearrange the words, that's how people can read quickly.

If I mses and srmbcale tehse wrdos up, you suolhd not hvae too mcuh dfiuciftly riedang tehm.

Did anyone whose native tongue was Russian have trouble reading that?

Probably it is possible in any other language. People, how at you? And to write the story where all words begin on one letter.

    Hi Aimak,

I am trying to decipher exactly what it is you were trying to say and correct it for you. I am having a VERY hard time with your first sentance. It is almost as if you had two thoughts there.

Here is my attempt at it (maybe someone else can do better than I did). Please let me know how close I came to what you actually meant to say. Rockzmom.

I don't know your mom; but, was she not able to read the words? This joke goes back in Russia more than 80 years ago.

    Re: Joke /

I am sorry for my bad English

Rockzmom, it was "I don't know your mom and never read her letters".

How could I have made this easier for him to understand?

    Now I am confused, too!
To be honest, I can't think properly now, so I'm sorry... To break out a doorframe is not so easy for a young girl...

    I have recollected one history.
Гостинница "Moscow". The German and the Australian sit At a table Russian. All three sober, as стеклышко. The German and Russian briskly enough talk among themselves. A theme of conversation about a life. The Australian is silent. It asks " In what language you speak? "
    - In English - the German answers
-I do not understand you - the Australian speaks

I spoke English to people of many nationalities but the only guy whose English I was completely unable to understand was from Australia.

    Aimak,

It was easier for me to rewrite this one than to make corrections to yours. I hope my version of your story is correct.

I recall this joke from around 1989.

A German man and an Australian man walk into the bar at the Hotel Moscow in St. Petersburg and notice only two chairs available, at a table where a Russian man is sitting. They ask if they can join the Russian. He agrees and all politely acknowledge each other. It is important to note, that all three men are sober. The German and Russian strike up a conversation and begin speaking quickly and passionately about life; yet, the Australian does not join in the conversation. He remains silent. Just listening and watching the two men speaking. Finally, the Australian man cannot take it any longer and asks the men, “What language are you speaking?”

The German and Russian look at each other a bit confused and back to the Australian.

Then the German replies hesitantly, “English.”

The Australian stares at his two table mates before responding, “I don’t understand you.”

I'm sure it does not effect the meaning of the story at all but the location appears to be the Hotel Moscow in St Petersbourg, not the city of Moscow.
