Thread: IRAN celebrate qualification for worldcup 2006

Iran became the second Asian heavyweight to qualify for next year’s World Cup thanks to a 1-0 win over Bahrain on Wednesday night.
The victory, courtesy of Mohammad Nostrati’s header a minute into the second half, takes Branko Ivankovic side to the top of Group A with 13 points, one ahead of Japan, who also secured qualification to Germany with a 2-0 win over DPK Korea earlier in the evening.

Congratulations to Iran. I saw on TV the Persians were celebrating at the roads.

I wish you good luck. Iran and Russia are my most supported countries (after Greece of course). Greece lost to Ukraine 0-1 and things are difficult for us now. What a fluke so many chances we had and Ukraine scored with one chance at the end of the game.

I'm fan of Italy and Greece , I like these two countries .
I saw the match between Turkey and Greece , you had a great chance in second half , but your player lost it ( I don't know his name but he was bald ). I think if you hadn't lost your first match against Albania , now you had a very good position in your group. You also have a very difficult group . Ukraine , Denmark and Turkey are strong teams and you'll have a difficult play with Denmark in Denmark .
I hope Greece and Italy become qualified too .

Thanks. In our game with Turkey the Turks controlled the second half, but we had two great chances with Giannakopoulos and Lakis to score. Turks hadn't chances like these.

These too stupid loses to Albania and Ukraine at home will costed us a lot. Now we count on a bad result of Turkey - things are difficult but there is still hope.
