Hi Sara.
Привет, Сара. Что вы уже узнали о русском языке?
English: Hi, Sara. What have you learned already about the Russian language?
u can call people ты on the internet. Theres really no need to say "вы" unless ur sending an email to your boss or something.
You also have to say вы if you don't know the gender :wink:Quote:

Oh yes, And I have one Pashtu teacher that learned Russian in the CCCP back in the 80's and we always talk in Russian. I always use Вы with him too, just because he is so Bad*ss.
Hallo.
Welcome aboard, Sara! :)
And as to Scotcher's comments, abrupt, a bit corrosive as they may be  don't take them negatively... he is giving good advice... there are many native Russian speakers, very good people here who will be glad to help you learn... just remember that not everyone has the "internet-style" or "street/young-English-speak" in their vocabulary (I sure don't have it, and I'm an American English teacher! ) ... so, just, in the beginning, try to write clear and standard (Canadian, British, American, Australian) English for native Russian-speakers. Most are fluent in English, but there are some who are not. So, just remember that.
Sorry, to everyone... I'm sounding as a teacher again!
Sara, you'll have fun here. 8)
So, again, welcome! :D
