Thread: Is Goritci a town in Tver region?

I have been emailing with a young lady who says this is where she lives. I cannot find any reference to it on city.ru and am wondering if this is a village or town? She is planning on coming for a visit and I need to know if she is being honest with me. Thank you for any help.

How is she planning on getting a visa and a ticket?

I am no too clear on that, she said she had to go to Moscow for an interview. This is all new to me. She said she was going to be between jobs for a month or so and wanted to come over and visit me. She said she would take care of everything. I haven't got all the answers I would like.

It appears to me that Горицы is indeed a small town in Тверская область. I found it in this index of postal codes:

I cannot find any site about the town itself, but it seems to be mentioned a lot in bus routes around the Tver region. There was a site about another town named Горицы, but that one seems to be located in Вологодская область. Well, maybe not, but it did say that it was not far from Киррилов, which is in Вологодская область.

Edit: I looked at a map and it seems that Вологодская область, Новгородская область, and Тверская область are all fairly close to each other. Confusing!

The site says Новгородское наместничество but the domain name is "pskovcity." Hrhrmrmrmm??!

Well at least she is comming to visit you. If you were going to russia then i'd be a little bit scared, but, i mean, she is the one going to a foriegn country so, she is the one who should be the most nervous.

It's next to impossible for a single girl to get a visa into the USA from Russia, unless she has got a lot of cash. The US immigrations is scarred they won't leave if they let them in. It's messed up!

I'd like to know what exactly goes through those bozo's minds down there at the embassy.......er...lets see, pretty girl wants to come to US.......hmm .....oh , wait a minute, we can't have that. There will be no extra girls allowed into America. Note to self: Make a law that says .....No extra girls shall enter USA from FSU countries.....especially if they are pretty. Send this memo to all departments and then we shall all have a cup of tea before we break for coffee.
