Russian, 3rd. Edition, by Ben T. Clark. ISDN is 0-06-041296-8 and do a search for it on http://isbn.nu . . . you can find used copies for as little as about 10 dollars. It's out of print, of course. But one of the best textbooks for studying Russian.

We use "Начало 1" and "Начало 2" in class. They are extremely good texts, but they run on the expensive side. Each volume with the workbook and CDs is about $140, but in my opinion it is worth it if you can make it through them.

I looked for that book and no results were found. Only this book: http://isbn.nu/aisbn/clarke%20thomas%20ernest%20bennett Maybe you could recommend another book?

    New Penguin is very good.

Don't get any of the Living Language series they are really boring (unless you like to learn a lot of business vocab.)

    New Penguine, good.
    Golosa, stupid.
