    Emailing in Russian

OK, so a question for you technical wizards:
I'm trying to send a Russian friend of mine an email, in Cyrillic encoding. The problem is that she apparently is accessing her webmail via either an Latin script encoding or a Russian character set that for some reason won't show up right when she opens my mail (my guess is that it's probably in English, though). What's the easiest fix for this (and don't say transliteration - ugh)? She's not that computer savvy, so I'd like to avoid giving her instructions -- is there some way I can encode my message so that it's character-set is auto-detected or something? And for what its worth, another Russian acquaintance can access my messages fine -- I think she's more computer literate, however, so she may freely switch back-and-forth among encodings as necessary...
    Заранее спасибо!
Заранее благодарю всех за исправление ошибок в моём русском.

I'd stick to MS-Word, because sometimes notepad for me likes to forget the encoding and it turns everything into rubbish.

If you can specify the encoding to be used yourself, try flicking it to Unicode/UTF-8 (sorta synonymous). The encoding type is sent with the e-mail, so if there's something wrong at her end, it's not that she hasn't selected the right one herself. Could well be laziness/corner-cutting on the part of her e-mail provider.

Considering she can't work out how to view an e-mail in Russian, she is probably not good with computers and those people tend to not venture away from IE.

Try putting it through a translator. Sometimes that converts the text but it still ends up being a little mixed up, grammar-wise.
Please correct any Russian language mistakes I make.
