demotivation

I am tired of learning English!
I am planning to take cpe in the future but I don't feel I can go on with learning!
I don't want any idioms, any phrasal verbs, any perfect continious, any metaphors!

Have u ever experienced anything like that? Did u manage to get over it and how (if yes)?

It doesn't mean I'm tired of learning in general but tired of English!

So I feel I should pull myself together, take the exam and forget about it all but I cannot!!!

What should I do? (sounds like a letter to an agony column! :) )

try to have some good experience with English,,,,ifthe only assiation to English you have is Gramma and studying, then sure, it does get depressive

watch some movies in English, hearn some music and try to understand the lyrics, or read something fun in English.....that makes you eager for learning more.....

olgaa, just take a break for a moment. Although, I can't understand how it's possible to get tired of English.

Olgaa - I agree with Rtyom, take a break. Is that possible for you? Or are you a student who has to follow a specific plan? :?

If not, take a good break, i.e. NO English at all for a couple of months (maybe weeks will do it for you, if you're lucky :) I know when I hit an "oversaturation plateau", it takes me about two months). It will give your brain and your mind some peace and quiet, and the necessary time to assimilate all the things you have been learning. Which means that you'll actually be better at it once you start again, even though you haven't been "learning" in the meantime ;)

Maybe do something totally diffrent in the meantime (NOT learning languages!! :lol: ) - I dunno, painting, mountaineering, sudoku..... :lol:

Main thing is not to worry about it - it's perfectly normal, happens to us all ;) And you will get back into the swing of things at some moment ;)

So don't worry, be happy - and take care of yourself ;)

...or the Russian alphabet. I can look at those little characters for awhile and then my mind begins to drift.

I came upon this problem some times, But I always got over it, because I had and have motivation. If you haven't a reason why you should do something, give it up!!! :wink:

As I said, main thing is not to get stressed about it - it will just make it worse.... :|
