Creative ideas please!

I work nights on an air force base in England.

Usually when day shift comes in at around 7 am all the people who work nights go out and smoke a cigarette before they go home, and the people working days go out and smoke before work, so its one big smoke out.

Today walking back to the building after smoking we found what appeared to be a dead kitten. As it was about 1C last night we figured it froze to death. They were gunna throw it in the garbage but I bent down over it and saw that the saliva comming from its mouth and on the ground was still wet.

As I got closer, It blinked! At first I thought maybe it was just twitching. But then I thought, if it died of hypothermia, its muscles were probably too strained to twitch. I felt it with my hand, It wasn't breathing but its heart was still beating. I quickly removed my jacket, brought it to my car and warmed it up.

Now its about 3 hours later. Its still not really moving, but it meowed a few times, its blinks its eyes, stretches its legs, and responds when I touch it.

It doesn't appear to be more than 3 or 4 months old, and I can't tell if its a boy or a girl yet. I'm going to try to keep it.

This is where I need your help!

NAMES? I want a russian name, but somewhat creative seeing as how (s)he was found on a military base, and almost died of hypothermia!

I'm off now in search of some warm liquids to give it when it has the strength but i'd really appreciate some input! thank you!

Is it a male or a female?
For a male, how about Sikorsky?

The military link is pretty obvious - and I don't know whether he ever nearly froze to death :lol: , but I did find this in a biography:

Предлагаю назвать его Дух (если окажется котом). =)
Духами в России называют молодых солдат; к тому же, когда ты его нашел, дух едва держался в его теле.
P.S.: Как показывает практика, имена животных должны быть из одного/двух слогов. Более длинные в последствии сокращаются.

Good on you for saving the kitten. I hope you can get him/her warm and plenty of fluids in (you can buy milk for kittens of that age which will give them everything needed).
My suggestion Sacha. I'm bias as this is my sons name. Sacha (alexander obviously ut mainly called Sacha) was a Russian soldier in WWII who was one of the main people to lead a revolt in a Nazi death camp, killing many of the SS and allowing most of the camps 600 people to at least attempt an escape.
He survived at the end of the war to give evidence against the SS.
Or I like Anatoli. He was a fantastic climber, making the Everest summet many times and single handedly saved the lives of several climbers in a famoute white out on Everest by going up the mountain several times and carrying frozen climbers down to the nerest camp.

I brought it to the vet later that day... it didn't make it... Maybe I shouldn't have jumped the gun :P. But I really thought it was gunna live.

Oh well, just not my time to have a cat I guess. Thanks anyways though.

Sorry to hear the cat didnt make it. At least he/she had a bit of warmth and comfort for it's last hours. Good on you for trying.
