    A little bit confused about the meaning

    It's Isaac. It's his whole "I
    can paint the future" thing.

    115
    00:11:15,074 --> 00:11:17,907
    What if he can?
    Paint the future, I mean.

    116
    00:11:18,611 --> 00:11:20,010
    Stranger things, right?

    117
    00:11:20,079 --> 00:11:21,876
    No, that's about as strange
    as it gets
    .
    What does this phrase in bold mean?
    Only when you stop stopping your life can you begin to start starting it.

    " No, that's about as strange
    as it gets
    ."

    Here this means that the capability of Isaac to paint the future, is so strange, there is nothing more strange than that.

    [Then what does this phrase refer to?
    116
    00:11:18,611 --> 00:11:20,010
    Stranger things, right?
    I still don't see the logic...

    I thought this might be the trouble. This is a clipped phrase. I haven't seen the rest of the context, but what it looks like is something like, "there are stranger things, right?" or even "he can paint stranger things, right?" In any case, whatever is clipped off, in that line the speaker appears to be saying that it isn't the most strange thing, or it is not very exceptional in their opinion.

    OMG, sometimes I it seems you guys think in an entirely different way, I'm really at my wits end with this sort of tricks in English.
    Thanks, Seraph.

    I think when he says, "stranger things, right?", he is shortening the phrase, "stranger things have happened, right?". Meaning, "I guess it's possible he can see the future because 'stranger things have happened'". Then the response, "No, that's about as strange as it gets," means, "no, stranger things than that have not happened, this is the strangest".

    that's about as strange as it gets.

    Английский часто более лаконичный, чем русский.

    Оно примерно настолько странное, насколько такие вещи вообще могут быть странными.

    На русском получается коряво.

    Let me explain something about the Police Commissioner. This is an election year. We've had a lot of unflattering videos on the news lately. The Cheng case, the Jefferson case, the Rodriguez case. All he has left is a white vote.
    What does it mean?

    "White vote" or maybe 'white vote TM' is a stereotype. As is the 'Cheng, Jeffereson, and Rodriguez' thing. In reality, the white vote would probably not be all on the side of the police commissioner.

    In reality, the vote of all communities is split. The script that the words are from is some kind of stereotyped Hollywood thing.

    There seems to be something missing grammatically from this. But it still contains the sense that the person is not making any assumptions about the future. That is, there is enough uncertainty about the future, that the person is not making any projections about his/her future. => Not making any plans, because can't tell how current situation/circumstances will progress.

    Things containing this 'one day at a time' phrase often mean something like this. Not looking too far ahead.

    Is the person a prisoner or something? Or accused of a crime? Without the context, can't tell what is going on with the 'at judge' thing.

    Oh, I see, "White vote" refers to votes of white people, but I was thrown off by wiki article where "white vote" refers to deliberately spoiling the ballot sheet:

    Abstention is a term in election procedure for when a participant in a vote either does not go to vote (on election day) or, in parliamentary procedure, is present during the vote, but does not cast a ballot. Abstention must be contrasted with "blank vote", in which a voter casts a ballot willfully made invalid by marking it wrongly or by not marking anything at all. A "blank (or white) voter" has voted, although his vote may be considered a spoilt vote, depending on each legislation, while an abstaining voter hasn't voted. Both forms (abstention and blank vote) may or may not, depending on the circumstances, be considered as protest vote.
    can't tell what is going on with the 'at judge' thing.
    As it turned out Judge was the name of the company the person worked at.
    Thanks for your help.

    Look, do you plan on coming out to your
    parents?
    I mean, the ones who raised you?

    156
    00:11:10,836 --> 00:11:15,170
    No. My dad would unspool.

    157
    00:11:15,241 --> 00:11:18,301
    He'd never be able to wrap his
    mind around something like that.

    158
    00:11:18,377 --> 00:11:20,777
    It would break him.
    What does coming out to your parents mean?
    Move in with them or something else?

    What is the preceding content of this?

    If it is about sexuality (which this phrase often addresses), it means: "When will you tell your parents you are gay (or bi, trans, etc)?"

    Yes, the person has a little secret that sooner or later will be revealed either way.
    Thanks.
