Plot summary

Lev Durov the merchant was about to trade in distant lands. Before leaving home he asked his three daughters what treats they wanted him to bring back. The older daughters asked for expensive clothes and jewelry, but the youngest daughter Alyonushka asked for a scarlet flower which would be the most beautiful in the whole world. The merchant found the flower on an island and picked it but was captured by a monster who was the owner of the island and the scarlet flower. To set himself free, the merchant promised the monster that one of his daughters would come to see the monster on the island. Alyonushka found out about her father's promise and decided to go to the monster.

Сюжет

Купец собрался торговать в дальние страны и перед отъездом спросил своих трёх дочерей, каких гостинцев им привезти. Старшие дочери попросили дорогих нарядов и украшений, а младшая Алёнушка попросила цветочек аленький, краше которого нет на белом свете. Купец нашёл этот цветочек на одном острове и сорвал его, но оказался в плену у чудища — хозяина острова и аленького цветочка. Пришлось пообещать чудищу, что одна из его дочерей отправится к нему на остров. Алёнушка узнала об обещании отца и решила отправиться к чудищу.
